Get rid of scuffs to keep your floors in the best shape possible.

Rubber Eraser

Nope, it’s not a catchy name for an expensive product from a hardware store. We’re talking about that same common eraser you used when you were in school! You can go to your nearest dollar store or office supply store and buy a cheap pack of rubber erasers for your biggest scuffing emergencies. A quick rub will clean those scuffs right up. Just remember to check that the eraser you’re using is actually made of rubber, and not plastic. If you don’t, you may end up with even dirtier floors than before.

Use a Tennis Ball

For those big, stubborn scuffs, take a tennis ball and stick it to the end of a mop or broomstick. Tennis balls are as effective as rubber erasers in getting scuffs out of flooring. To avoid discoloring your flooring, use a traditional neon green ball, or a ball with light coloring.

Baking Soda

This household savior strikes again. Mix baking soda with water to make a paste. Then, use a toothbrush or sponge to lightly scrub your baking soda cleaner into the scuff marks. When the mark is cleared, just wipe up the lathered paste with a paper towel.

These are a few easy ways to get rid of scuff marks on your hardwood flooring. But there are many other ways to get the job done. Find a solution that is convenient for you! Just make sure that whatever you’re using won’t harm your flooring before you start cleaning.
