How to Keep Your Wood Walls Looking Great?

Just like you have a maintenance routine for your hardwood floors, you’ll need to implement the same type of routine to maintain your wood wall treatments. The good news is, protecting your wood walls is as simple as protecting your hardwood floors. All you need is a few simple tools and you can keep your wood wall treatments looking great for years to come.

You’d think that gravity would help keep your walls dust free. However, dust is particularly attracted to wooden surfaces, including vertical walls. Even if the wood is sanded smooth, the grain texture of the wood will grab and hold onto dust. If you’re proactive, a simple cleaning routine is all you need to protect and maintain your wood wall treatments. In fact, the maintenance routine you use for your floors is just as effective on your walls.

Dust

If you’re using a wood wall treatment to add some texture and artistry to a room, dust will have more places to gather. However, even a smooth wood wall treatment will attract and collect. Be sure to dust regularly so that the dust doesn’t settle into the wood so deep, affecting its visual aspect.

Vacuum

Any cleaning method that doesn’t require water is the best option for cleaning your walls. If you are wiping down and dusting your walls regularly, you’ll be able to remove dust and dirt with ease. Using a vacuum is a simple, easy, and effective way of getting the dust off of your walls.

Washing

For dirt and grim, or spills that land on your walls, the sooner you can wipe the stain the better. Depending on the type of stain, a little water, and some light soap may be necessary. Do not drown your walls with soap and water. Keep a soft microfiber cloth lightly damp and gently wipe off the stain. If you need to use more water, make sure to dry the walls afterward. Moisture will cause more damage to your wood wall treatments than any other element.
