Want to bring the beauty of natural wood into your home? Then you might want to consider flooring made from maple – it’s beautiful and durable, with a rich grain that gives it an elegant appearance. However, it should be noted that maple flooring can be more difficult to maintain than other types of hardwood because of its tendency to stain more easily – particularly if you spill red wine or coffee on it! So before you decide to go with maple floors, here’s what you should know about staining them.

Can Maple Hardwood Be Stained Dark

Maple floors are hardy and beautiful.

Like any wood floor, maple hardwood can be stained in a variety of colors depending on the desired look. The color and darkness of the stain will depend on how many coats of sealer or finish you apply. There are also differences in how easy different colors are to attain. For example, reds will require two to three coats for complete coverage as opposed to browns which only require one coat. If your furniture has a polyurethane coating on it (most do), be sure not to use anything with chlorine in it, as it may peel off the finish of your wood floors. If you’re looking to add some fun pops of color to your floor, think about using a natural oil-based dye that can be applied by hand. A professional should always perform these types of stains, but if you want to give it a try yourself first, then this could be a good option. Most importantly, remember that all products have their pros and cons, so it’s important to know what’s best for you before making any purchase decisions.

Why Is It Perhaps Better Not to Stain It Dark

For homeowners considering a darker floor, we recommend using a more durable finish for a high-traffic area such as the living room or kitchen. However, if you do plan to stain your floor, be sure to avoid an excessively dark color. Maple floors are hardy and beautiful in their natural state. For the sake of beauty and durability, it’s best to refrain from staining your new maple floor very dark at all. In fact, we don’t recommend any type of color other than natural because that’s what people will love looking at when they come over to visit. The extra cost may be worth it in the long run!
