Industry colleague, foodie-extraordinaire, & all-around good guy Mark Casper passed along this interesting article on bamboo flooring. This well-written article in SLATE entitled Bamboo and You, Are hardwood floors a crime against the Earth? was authored by Brendan I. Koerner.

It echos a lot of what I’ve been saying for a while now. Bamboo is a great eco-friendly crop; a wonder crop perhaps. However, as with most things, the eco-friendly story is a mixed bag. Is it a great hardwood floor? Read the article and let me know your thoughts.

Coming in the next few days, I’ll highlight some other eco-friendly hardwood options for consideration that are local, affordable, and stunning! Stay tuned!
